Tafsir Club Intro: Purpose, Instructions, & Rules

Purpose: We will reflect on tafsir of the Qur'an and share our reflections so that we can boost our eman, gain knowledge, and inshaAllah apply what we learn.

Since we want to benefit from each other without having to struggle, please write complete sentences. Use correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation and be as professional as possible. Eventually, we may be able to publish our compilation and then distribute it to more others.

Once you have read the tafsir of the day, add a post with any or all of the following:

• A gem or an amazing piece of information (APOI)
• A short summary (2-5 sentences)
• A “for your journal” question
  • For those who keep a journal or those who want to, write a beneficial question that they could answer in their journal
• An action item
  • Tell us how we can act upon these verses of the Qur'an

Some general rules when posting:

• Please be as professional as possible
  • Use complete sentences
  • Use correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Be organized and label what you are posting and where you are quoting from
• When quoting

• • Do not quote the whole post
  • Only quote the specific sentences you will reply to
• When quoting, you must indicate one of the following:
  • ‘Original Post’
  • ‘Tafsir.com’
  • ‘QuranJam’
  • ‘CY Member’
• You must indicate what you are posting:

• • Gem/APOI
  • Summary
  • FYJ question
  • Action item

• Try to keep your posts to the point
• You cannot repeat another gem/APOI. If you must, then:

• • You must elaborate on it
  • OR derive a new gem/APOI from it
