Seat belts

Seat belts or just belts, its all the same amirite?

My professor told me recently that a ton of people dont actually wear seat belts, and then he asked the class to honestly admit if they dont wear seat belts and half my class including my professor raised their hand lol. I was kinda shocked cuz I thought everyone was like me and they just automatically put on their seat belt when they get in the car without thinking, apparently not.

Anyways, im making this thread cuz of that awesome PSA Buckle Up video that came out recently, its pretty cool vid. (warning it contains music and no words so just mute it the whole thing, its fine):

Deeeeeng. That was very, very nice.

I am an idiot for not wearing my seat belt. Seriously. It's one of the DUMBEST things someone could do for themselves... I am moved!

I don't wear my seatbelt if I'm going to be driving for like 5 min. But other than that. I usually do, especially if I'm gonna be on the highway.

But I thought everyone automatically put their belt on too.

And the video was super corny to me.

but seriously, you should not only wear your seatbelt but make sure you wear it properly. The proper position is below the anterior superior iliac spines of the pelvis and against the hip joints. pretty much secured tightly against the bony part on the anterior border of your hip. If you wear it too high, it can squeeze your abdominal organs against your spine or even cause a lumbar spine fracture when the car suddenly decelerates or stops.
