What do we not have any doubt with? Definitely the collections of hadith that we know have a reliable and trustworthy way of narrating, like Al Bukhari, Muslim to name the top two.
A question that just popped up in my head..do the Shia have saheeh, hasan, and da'eef categories? I wonder how their hadith categorization is like

That would be something interesting to look into... how they get their ahaadeeth in the first place.. I believe that at least some of their sects consider that the majority of the sahaabah apostated or were not true followers of prophet muhammad

... if they don't even believe that so many of the sahabah, from whom we get our ahaadeeth, were even muslim, i don't know how they get their ahaadeeth..... doesn't seem like a chain of narration method, like what we have, would work in that system... they have too many ahadeeth to have come with accurate chains from the few sahaabah they accept. Also, I never see any chains mentioned on their sites... usually just 'the prophet said' right away. wallaahu 'lam
here's one link i found that at least shows that they do consider some ahaadeeth to be saheeh vs not-saheeh... in concept, if not in name... but it appears to be a non-shi'ee site.. so maybe we should look at their own sites
